Over the course of human history, many empires have risen, and just as many have fallen; but of all the ever-expanding nation-states in the present day, is there one that we would consider an Empire? What defines the modern empire and what sets it apart from ancient ones? Can the modern empire be overthrown and will it happen in our lifetime? If so, how? Let's take a look!
